  2. I had never seen red ones either and thought they may be dyed. I did some research, and I think they are really red, but I'm not 100% sure. I think there is a red variety, but these may have been "pumped up" for show. Who knows!

  4. I was intrigued by the red olive as well, but have an antipathy toward food coloring, so did a little research. They are artificially colored red! Interesting.

  6. Do you often get smacked down for believing as you do about artificial color in food? I get smirks, gapes and eyerolls if I mention it. But it seems so obvious! If you have to add artificial color (or artificial flavor ... same chemical structures) to something to make it appetizing, maybe you shouldn't be EATING it!!! Rant over.

    Enlarge the picture look at the top small sprig of olive.
    ...and certainly not food coloring
