R.I.P. Canon Digital Elph, born 2005; died 2014
With auto and macro from Krakow to Fes
We captured the world at medium res
In markets and cafes and shoots on my table
You needed no tripod to prove you were stable
My fierce little workhorse, I was your jockey
We conquered the courses from sushi to gnocchi
I traveled so light with you in my pocket
When bloggers donned giant ones, I said “oh, fock it”
You didn’t cry any time you were dropped
You didn't curse me when I Photoshopped
You didn’t sneer when I cooked gluten-free
You just kept shooting and rooting for me
Thanks for the mem’ries, we journeyed so far
My diminutive, elfin un-DSLR
Goodbye old pal, now rest in peas
You're a poet don't you know it?
ReplyDeleteSorry about the loss of your camera, but it did create a FANTASTIC ode! I love it!
ReplyDeleteSo, Lentil..what camera will you get to replace your trusty Elf? Perhaps the new one with inspire an ode! Best!
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn. Not sure what camera to get! All I have now is an iPhone which runs out of juice too fast. Loved that little Elph but would like to take better pics. Yet the small one came in handy when I wanted to "steal" pics of people in other countries on the sly. :)
ReplyDeleteFantastic!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love it! Especially the "rest in peas"!!! :)
ReplyDeleteYou just have a way to make me smile and keep me smiling!
ReplyDeleteI know what it's like to lose a trusty camera, so you have my sympathy. Hug. But your next one will be even better. Can't wait to see what it is.
